Build A Simple DIY Compact Survival Fishing Kit

No matter what the survival situation is, certain things will rank at the top of the priority list.  Food will inevitably be one of these high ranking items.  Because of this everyone should build a simple DIY compact fishing kit for their daily carry get-home-bag as well as their bug out bags.  The fishing kit build shown here can be made from everyday items you already have around your house.

Things you will need:

• Sharp knife or razor blade
• Two Empty Powerade or Gatorade bottles
• One expired credit/debit card or something similar
• Super glue or your favorite type of glue
• Scissors
• fishing hooks
• fishing line
• splitshot sinkers

To begin this project, cut the tops off of your two bottles just below the point where it flares out under the cap.

Next take one of the bottle tops and trace a circle onto the plastic card and cut it out.

Now it is time to glue the caps onto the plastic circle.  Glue one of the tops to one side of the circle.

Next cut the plastic ring that sits below the cap from the second bottle top.

Now glue the second top to the opposite side of the plastic circle.

Allow the glue to completely dry before adding splitshot or your preferred weights to one side.

Place several fishing hooks in the other side.

Now it's time to add your fishing line.  Wrap your line around the side of the fishing kit that no longer has a plastic ring.  Be sure to add a sufficient amount line to your fishing kit.  Be sure to wrap the line around the bottle neck in the same direction that the cap screws on.

Remove the cap from the side of your DIY survival fishing kit, attach a split shot sinker onto the end of the fishing line and sit it inside the sinker side.  This will ensure that the line doesn't unravel in your pack before you are ready to use it.

Make several of these compact fishing kits and keep a few in each of your bags so that you never have to worry about being without one.  This kit can be made from 2 liter or 20 oz soda bottles as well; however, I prefer to use bottles with bigger openings because this allows for more fishing line, hooks and sinkers to be stored with each kit.

Planning Your Bug Out Route

If everything goes south and the need arises to bug out, planning your bug out route ahead of time might be the one thing that can save your life.  When faced with a stressful situation our mind will react to the circumstances differently than during an every day scenario.  Because of this it is important to plan ahead as much as possible. It is obvious to just about everyone that we need to be prepared with the food, supplies and other necessities to get us through the tough times ahead, but do you ever stop to think about what it will take to get from point A to point B when chaos ensues?

If you haven't done it yet, now is the time to begin planning the escape route that will enable you to safely reach your bug out destination. There are many possibilities to take into consideration for this task.  How will you travel?  Will you be able to use a vehicle or will you be required to travel on foot?  How much food will you be able to carry with you?  Will you travel alone or in a group?  if you are traveling in a group, how will you make certain that you and every member of your group has enough water?  Where will you sleep?  How will you protect yourself and/or your group?  How will you avoid detection?  How will you avoid being followed and/or ambushed?  Do you have all of the necessary supplies to carry you through your journey?  Each of these questions should be answered honestly in order to prepare for a time when bugging out may be necessary.  If you can't answer these questions with 100% certainty, you should immediately begin working towards the solution.  Every person will have different scenarios and circumstances to deal with so no two people will be able to answer these questions the same way.  Be sure the answers you have are right for your scenario(s).

Preplanning your travel route can be a time consuming process, but if the need to get out of dodge arises it will be well worth the effort.  When planning it is a good idea to have multiple routes available.  There may be any number of problems that occur during a venture to your bug out location.  Because of this having multiple routes is a crucial game plan.  Mark these routes out on a map.  Once you have them located, go back and find multiple ways to access each route from the other alternative routes.  This will allow you to enact a change of plans at a moments notice and enable you to keep moving even if something or someone decides to attempt to get in your way.  

While mapping out your escape plan, be sure to include routes for vehicle travel as well as routes for hiking to your destination.  If you are lucky enough to be able to use a car or truck in your travel, it will be of utmost importance to have multiple routes marked for this purpose on your map.  Don't just look over your map, highlight your routes.  In a stressful situation your map reading skills may not work as well as they do on a day to day basis.  Having highlighted routes will ease the burden of the situation.  As with your hiking routes, be sure to highlight multiple paths between each of your travel routes so that you can alter your plans quickly and efficiently.

You should go one step further and be sure to plan multiple escape routes leading from your vehicle routes to the paths you would take on foot.  Your car/truck may break down.  An EMP would render your ride useless.  A marauder may catch you off guard causing the need to escape on foot.  Flat tires, blocked roadways, checkpoints and any number of other unforeseen circumstances may force your plans to change.  Always have a minimum of three routes and three paths of escape from each of these routes.  It may not be easy to achieve this, but it will be well worth the effort put forth should the need arise.

When your life and the lives of your family and loved ones are on the line, there is no room for error. Plan ahead now and stay safe!

Why Books Are A Prepping Essential

There are many items that can be considered necessities when preparing for a SHTF scenario, but most preppers tend to overlook one vital source of information that could be a life save......Books!  Why books you ask?

There are a number of reasons that books should be on your list of prepping essentials.

1. Obtaining books with information pertaining to the aspects of survival will ensure that you always have access to the answers you need about important topics such as gardening, reloading ammunition, medical procedures, survival skills and more.
2. Having a physical copy of books pertaining to the subject matters that you are most unfamiliar with will allow you to seek out the answers you need in the case of a grid down scenario when online access would be impossible.

Head Of FBI Says No Charges Should Be Filed On Hillary Clinton

Today James Comey said that after investigating some 30,000+ emails of Hillary Clinton which were passed back and forth on her own private server that there should be no charges filed.  During his speech Comey stated that it is a crime to either knowingly or unknowingly pass confidential government emails over servers other than those provided by the government.  He also stated that his decision in this case didn't mean that someone else who had done this same thing would not face punishment (so if you or I preformed this exact same crime, we would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law).  This is ridiculous!  Knowing that there were over 100 confidential emails that had been passed between her server and government servers  (another seven emails that were classified as Top Secret or higher) there is no way that Hillary should not be headed to prison.  It was also stated that 107 doesn't include all of the emails that were classified as confidential or higher after having been sent (emails being passed over an insecure server that are not classified as confidential or higher is also a crime.)  Looking at this Hillary Clinton is guilty of no less than 107 crimes plus an additional crime for each email that was later classified as confidential or higher.  It was also stated that there is good reason to believe that some (no specified number) of these emails had been intercepted by hackers based on the fact that some of the people's servers she had emailed were known to have been compromised.  I believe that there should be a new plea in the court of law called the Hillary defense.  In my opinion, by the way this has played out no one should ever be sentenced to prison again for anything (simply use the Hillary defense).

With Clinton's husband having made a surprise visit to Loretta Lynch one has to wonder just how many people's jobs, families or lives were threatened to keep her out of the pen.  The Clintons are known to have a long list of corpses lying behind them on their trail to where they are today, and I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to spill more blood in order to place Hillary in the Whitehouse.  Snopes says there is no chance the Clintons are responsible for these deaths and that people in high places have more connections than us peons so there is more of a chance that those around them will die of unnatural causes.  This may be true, but it's funny how many of these people are individuals who had information that could have caused trouble for Bill,

If I had to guess at this point I would almost be willing to bet that Hillary Clinton has already been selected to be the next President of The United States.  She would have a hard time becoming the president from inside a jail cell so they made certain that she would not ever have to worry about it.  I am not saying to skip the voting booth this year.  On the contrary.....the more of us who go vote the more difficult we will make it to rig this election.  Do not be surprised however when illegal aliens play a role in Hillary Clinton's election to the Whitehouse.  The public snooze media will do all they can to cover up any wrong doings as they are bought and paid for by the U.S. Government.

In conclusion, I am asking everyone out there to be sure to vote against Hillary this November and make it as hard as possible for the Presidential Election to be rigged!
